Stop Telemarketing calls

I don’t know about you, but I am tired of the continuous line of calls I get from sales and telemarketing companies endlessly trying to sell me products and services I don’t want or can’t afford. Occasionally, the call is a recording offering me a product, or suggesting that I hold on the line for an “important call.” I even receive calls from telemarketers who begin by saying”hello Jonathan, its Jack. Do you remember me; we spoke about a year ago.”

As consumers, we no longer enjoy the privacy we have come to expect from our land lines, and cell phones. Billions of calls are placed to our phones by companies looking to cell us anything they can.

Not only can we be called, we might have to pay for the call. That’s Wright, they call us, we didn’t solicit the call, and we don’t want it, but when it comes, the cost of the in-coming call could appear on our bills. There is hope, and as consumers, we can fight back. The federal Trade Commission has a toll free number that will enable us to block un-wanted callers from distributing or using our numbers. When you call to block your number, you must be calling from the sell or home phone that you want blocked. To learn more, and to block your numbers, call the National Do Not Call Registry at 888-382-1222.

This is a chance to protect a little bit of the privacy we have left.
