Know your credit score

Did you know that your credit score can be different from one credit scoring company to another?
There are three primary credit scoring companies for consumer credit in the United States, and they don’t all get the same information about you at the same time. Some of the data they get comes from sharing information with credit card companies, and collection agencies. Some of it comes from sharing information about you with each other, and other information about you is gathered from a variety of sources, including your banks, and your states motor vehicle registry. You are entitled to a copy of your credit report from each of the three credit bureaus at least once a year, and they are free. You can even dispute false or inaccurate information, but it takes work to make sure that false or wrong information is permanently removed from all three credit scoring companies.
You don’t need to spend your money on gimmicks advertising free credit reports, only to find out that to get a full report will cost you money. Just visit this link http://www.directcomplaint.com/creditbureaus.php and your free credit reports are only a few steps away.

Student loans

Has anyone noticed that interest rates for college student loans have not gone down? I thought that our president pledged to increase the amount students could get for aid, and decrease the interest rates. What happened? The interest rates that most college students are paying this year is from 1% to 5% higher then they were last year. In these tough economic times, banks are taking advantage of our most vulnerable and most needy college students, and our government is letting them do it.
Mortgage rates may be down, and the Federal Reserve is holding money borrowing rates from bank to bank at historic lows, so why are college students being set up for uncontrollable financial bleeding, and credit failure when it comes time to begin repaying their loans. It just seams to me like this is another way for the little people to be squeezed.

Your Utility Bills

If you are on a payment plan with a utility company, and you have been paying the same amount for a long time, the chances are pretty good that you have a huge credit on your account. Check the bill, call the utility company, and get your money back. Who knows, you might even be able to stop making payments for a while, wouldn’t that be something?
