The National Association for
Free Television believes that the federal government should not have
the authority to determine what we as Americans watch on television.
The FCC, Federal Communications Commission, has determined that certain
types of television programming are inappropriate for general viewing.
Therefore, the FCC has proposed legislation which would give the government
the power to regulate what can be shown on television for free.
The FCC wants the authority to charge us as citizens for certain content
that they determine is not appropriate for all viewing audiences.
The National Association for
Free Television is opposed to this new law, as we believe that people
should be free to watch what they want and television networks should
be able to choose the content they would like to make available to viewers.
We believe that the market should be enough for the television networks
and the viewers to decide on their own what is appropriate or not.
By supporting this petition,
you will be letting Congress, the FCC, and the world know that you too
support full free access to television, and the government should keep
any regulations for programming content to themselves.
